Universe is an annual international beauty pageant that is run by the United
States–based Miss Universe Organization. It is one of the most watched pageants
in the world with an estimated audience of over 500 million viewers in over 190
territories. Along with Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth, Miss
Universe is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
The current
Miss Universe pageant was founded in 1952 by Pacific Knitting Mills, a
California-based clothing company and manufacturer of Catalina Swimwear. The
company was the sponsor of the Miss America pageant until 1951.

She was born on 20 August 1934,is a Finnish-American charity worker, model and beauty queen. In 1952, she won the Finnish national beauty contest Suomen Neito and was presented with a trip to the United States to participate in the first-ever Miss Universe pageant, becoming its first titleholder.

she was born on July 4, 1933, is an American television host, actress, former model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 1954. She was the first American to win the title, and had previously been crowned Miss USA 1954. Prior to Miss USA, Stevenson was Miss South Carolina USA 1954, becoming the first woman from South Carolina to win Miss USA. She also represented South Carolina in Miss America 1954 after winning Miss South Carolina 1953, where she placed in the top ten.
