The most expensive wedding dress in the world ($12 million)
According to
Guinness World Records, the most expensive wedding dress was especially created
for the Luxury Brands Lifestyle Bridal Show held on 26 February 2006 at The
Ritz-Carlton on Rodeo Drive in Marina del Rey, California, USA.
The Diamond
Wedding Dress is a collaboration between Renee Strauss and Martin Katz who is a
famous jeweler. With a total of 150-carat diamonds, and made with the finest
silk, the diamond wedding dress is truly iconic.
Renee
Strauss is known for her popular bridal salon in Beverly Hills. Here client
list includes celebrities such as Shannen Doherty, Kathy Ireland, Rosanne, and
Paul Abdul, and her wares have been featured in Hollywood productions like
General Hospital, He’s Just Not That Into You, Because I Said So, and Coyote Ugly.
Her teammate in this effort, Martin Katz, is also famous in Beverly Hills as a
designer and jeweler. His creations have been worn by leading Hollywood ladies
such as Angelina Jolie, Hilary Swank, Carrie Mulligan, and Claire Daines.
What makes
this wedding gown stand out is the fact that it has been designed in such a way
that when the bride turns and moves, light shines off the diamonds and creates
a wonderful sparkle.
The
designers have priced this dress at an astronomical $12 million and are in no
hurry to sell it. They are using this stunning creation to promote their
designs and wares at luxury fashion and bridal exhibitions.
The pièce de résistance, this collaboration between designer Renee Strauss and jeweller Martin Katz resulted in this gorgeous Diamond Wedding Gown. Made in 2006, this beautiful dress is made from the finest silk fabrics and contains 150 carats of diamonds. Apparently, it’s still up for sale.
