We all know that the World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for global public health. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and has six regional offices and 150 field offices worldwide. Only sovereign states can participate, and it is the largest intergovernmental health organization at the international level.
The WHO's
purpose is to achieve the highest possible level of health for all the world's
people, defining health as "a state of complete physical, mental and
social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." The
main functions of the World Health Organization include: to promote the control
of epidemic and endemic diseases; to provide and improve the teaching and
training in public health, the medical treatment of disease and related
matters; and to promote the establishment of international standards for
biological products.
Trump signs
executive order withdrawing from the World Health Organization in 2025 for
these reasons:
- The US
president said China has total control over the WHO despite only paying USD 40
million per year compared to what the US has been paying which is approximately
USD 450 million a year.
- China has
total control over World Health Organization, we have detailed to them the
reforms that they must make and engaged with them directly but they have
refused to act.
- America is
terminating its relationship with the World Health Organization as he blamed it
and China for the deaths and destruction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic across
the globe. Chinese officials ignored their reporting obligations to the World
Health Organization and pressured the World Health Organization to mislead the
world when the virus was first discovered by Chinese authorities. Countless
lives have been taken, and profound economic hardship has been inflicted all
around the globe.

- The World
Health Organization has failed to publicly call on China to allow for an
independent investigation into the origins of the virus, despite the recent
endorsement for doing so by its own Emergency Committee. The World Health
Organization’s failure to do so has prompted World Health Organization member
states to adopt the “COVID-19 Response” Resolution at this year’s World Health
Assembly, which echoes the call by the United States and so many others for an
impartial, independent, and comprehensive review of how the World Health
Organization handled the crisis. The resolution also calls for an investigation
into the origins of the virus, which is necessary for the world to understand
how best to counter the disease.
- "I
cannot allow American taxpayer dollars to continue to finance an organization
that, in its present state, is so clearly not serving America’s
interests."
- Remember: On April 14, 2020, Trump suspended United States contributions to the World Health Organization pending an investigation by his Administration of the organization’s failed response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
