At first, you have to know that the relationship between China and the United States of America is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. Despite these tensions, the two nations have significant economic ties and are deeply interconnected, while also engaging in strategic competition on the global stage.
- Trump believes
that China had initiated an unprecedented effort to influence American public
opinion, the 2018 elections, and the environment leading into the 2020
presidential elections because China wanted a different American President. He
said, “There can be no doubt: China is meddling in America’s democracy.”
- Over the
past 20 years, China’s GDP has grown nine-fold; it’s become the second-largest
economy in the world. Much of this success was driven by American investment in
China. And the Chinese Communist Party has also used an arsenal of policies
inconsistent with free and fair trade, including tariffs, quotas, currency
manipulation, forced technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and
industrial subsidies that are handed out like candy to foreign investment.
These policies have built Beijing’s manufacturing base, at the expense of its
competitors—especially the United States of America. As President Trump said
before, in his words, “We rebuilt China” over the last 25 years.

- Trump
Said, “China’s pattern of misconduct is well known. For decades, they have
ripped off the United States like no one has ever done before. Hundreds of
billions of dollars a year were lost dealing with China, especially over the
years during the prior administration. China raided our factories, offshored
our jobs, gutted our industries, stole our intellectual property, and violated
their commitments under the World Trade Organization. To make matters worse,
they are considered a developing nation getting all sorts of benefits that
others, including the United States, are not entitled to.”

plain facts cannot be overlooked or swept aside. The world is now suffering as
a result of the malfeasance of the Chinese government. China’s cover-up of the
Wuhan virus allowed the disease to spread all over the world, instigating a
global pandemic that has cost more than 100,000 American lives and over a
million lives worldwide.

I will issue a proclamation to better secure our nation’s vital university research and to suspend the entry of certain foreign nationals from China who we have identified as potential security risks," Trump said.
